We took the train at 9 am and arrived in Prague, Czech
Republic (my motherland!!) around 4:30 pm. We got settled in to our hostel and
then grabbed a quick Czech dinner of meat and potatoes/rice. I got pork and
rice in a mushroom gravy.
That night we met up with another group of us that was in
Prague for the night. The 30 of us met up and all went on a big pub crawl
together. It was really cool, we went to four bars and then ended up at a
5-story club.

Tuesday morning we got up and headed to the center of the town
to head on a tour. The tour was supposed to be three hours long, and me and my
friends made it through about the first half hour. Our tour guide just went on
random tangents and would stay at a single spot for like a half hour. We
realized we weren’t going to see many different places and not learn that much
about the actual city, so we decided we would just give ourselves a tour the
next day. Unfortunately it was snowing pretty hard that day so we could barely
see in front of us because of all the snowflakes shooting into our eyes. We
decided to make this day our shopping day. We walked around and saw some of the
pretty architecture while stopping in some stores to shop. We shopped in the
outdoor flea market and then headed to an indoor mall. It was a really good
mall, just none of us had as much money as we would have liked to spend there!

That night we headed to U Medvidku Restaurant and Brewery. I
got an authentic Czech meal of “Granny’s larded roast beef in sour cream with
white-bread dumplings and cranberries” and a couple of beers from their brewery.
After dinner, me and a couple girls headed to the Charles
Bridge to see it and the castle lit up at night.

We made Wednesday our self-tour day. We walked around the old
town and to the Jewish quarter to the castle on the other side of the Charles
Bridge. The castle was really pretty and there was a beautiful church in the
middle of it, St. Vitus Cathedral.

That night we tried to go on a ghost tour of Prague! We’re still not sure
what happened, but we showed up to the meeting point and the guide just didn’t
show up. So instead we grabbed a gelato sundae and headed to a local Czech bar/pub. It was a really
interesting atmosphere. Everyone was really chill and there were piglets there!
